Caleb had a birthday party to attend today and he dressed up as a pirate. I'm really surprised he let me draw on his face and he even kept the stuff on his head. He's pretty cute, don't you think?! I think Halloween is going to be even more fun with him this year.

Moving & Crawling

Dylan is finally crawling! I thought it was going to take him forever to get moving, but he's officially crawling. He's been scooting himself backward for quite a while now, but finally got up on his knees and crawled. He's not too quick yet, but he's sure been exploring. Caleb doesn't know what to think of it now that his brother can move and get things. He started to crawl earlier this week, but I failed to catch it on video until yesterday.

Dylan is now two months, I can't believe how big he is already! He's nursing like a champ and is a whopping 14.14lbs and 25.5 inches. Much bigger than Caleb was at this point. He really is a sweet Lil guy and couldn't have asked for a better baby. He is super smiley and is starting to coo more and more each day. He loves bath time and the bouncy seat. Smiley Face! This picture makes me laugh. I was trying to get him to smile and got this instead.

Caleb is quite the silly Lil guy! He's got a funny sense of humor. He makes me laugh all day long with some of the things he does. He likes to sit in the bouncy seat. What's that in his hair you ask? Pomade, he tried to do it himself He thinks Mr. Potato head's glasses are for him This is what we deal with at bedtime :)

Halloween just gets more fun each year. Caleb loved it this year! I guess he realized he could just be cute and get candy. He's been obsessed with Dinosaurs lately ,so that's what he was. It's actually a little Dragon costume, but it looks like a dinosaur to me. He was getting a kick out of roaring at everyone at our ward trunk or treat. He really had a good time. Jake also took him out Saturday around the neighborhood. We didn't take Dylan out since it was rainy. Let's just hope we can come up with some good family themed costumes next year.

Jake took Caleb to the Museum of Ancient Life today. Caleb absolutely loved it! He saw the big dinosaur on the side of the building and kept saying "saur", he was so excited! They had a good time.

Caleb is starting to warm up to Dylan just a little. He's been a lot better than I expected him to be, so I'm thankful for that. Look at how cute he's been with him. It's pretty cute to hear him say Dylan's name. He loves him, he just doesn't know it yet.

Introducing, Dylan Scott Lee. Dylan was born on 9/13/10. I was scheduled to be induced and was lucky enough to get in that same morning around 9. To my surprise I was already having consistent contractions when we got to the hospital. I couldn't feel them though. They hooked me all up and got things rolling. Within an hour or so I was having really hard contractions and asked for the epidural. My nurse upped my pitocin at that point and my Dr. came and broke my water. I was having a little trouble with my epidural not working on both sides, so they had to come and adjust it and up my dose. Shortly after that I was fully dilated and ready to push. My nurse asked how long I pushed with Caleb and I told her only 3 pushes. She was a little shocked. I told her I wouldn't push more than 3 times with this one either and I didn't. Dylan came out really easy and in two pushes at 3:06pm. He was 8lbs 6oz and 21.5 inches long. He was screaming like crazy, which was totally the opposite of Caleb. I got to hold him for just a few minutes until they whisked him off to the nursery to run some tests. He was turning blue and grey. He stayed in the nursery for the first 24 hours. Poor little guy had to have an IV. I was living in the nursery with him trying to nurse him so we could take him back to our room. We were finally able to take him out of the nursery and home the next day. We never found out what was wrong with him. The doctors think it was some kind of infection. We celebrated Caleb's 2nd birthday this weekend. Whoever termed it "terrible two's" was right on. He's so happy and playful one minute and then a little terror the next. I'm hoping he'll grow out of it as the year goes on, but we'll see what happens. Caleb is such a silly little guy and loves to laugh. He's talking and learning new words daily. He loves to read and loves Curious George. He loves being outside and going to the park. He also loves when daddy comes home and he just lights up! reading Opening Presents No Nap Face! Bear Lake 09

We went to Bear Lake for the Lee Reunion last week and had a blast. Thanks Jim & Laurey for providing us with such a great time! It was so nice to get away from work and just relax. We were able to spend time with family and just play. We got to ride jet ski's, relax in the canoe, and paddle our way in the paddle boat. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Caleb even ventured out to the water himself and loved it! I'm so glad he isn't afraid of the water. It's going to make future vacations even more fun. We also go to celebrate Heather's 40th birthday. Rach & Sue made her a sweet book with notes from all the family. It was such a perfect gift and Heather loved it. We love our family and can't wait to spend more time with them. Happy Birthday to me! Yep I'm 27 on the 27th. The day didn't start out to well and didn't get better when I got to work. Luckily I was able to work a half day and hang out with Caleb for the rest. Jake did take me out dinner with Tob & Missy so that was fun. He also got me a new IPOD so I could start working out again. Thanks honey! Let's just hope the rest of the year goes better. I can't believe I'm 27, wow! Don't really feel much different, but I guess I am getting older.

Trip to Cali

We headed out to Cali this weekend for Bridget's birthday. Bridget is now 12 and wanted to go do baptisms for her birthday. She was lucky enough to do work for her grandma that had passed away. It was a special day for her and I'm glad we could be there for her. The drive out there however was not the best. Caleb is not the best traveler in the world. Jake gave him some licorice to chew on about 15 minutes from leaving. Caleb choked on it and proceeded to vomit all over the place. Luckily it wasn't too bad and we were able to make it on our way. I think it was just too long of a 1st trip to take him on. He wasn't really ready for it and being in his car seat wasn't great for him. Hopefully he'll get better. The ride home was a little better since we bought him a DVD player and some movies. Who knew the kid loved Clifford so much. Happy 29th Birthday Honey! We celebrated Jake's birthday today. I tried to surprise him by inviting all the family here in Utah to come to dinner with us. He thought it was going to be just the 3 of us until he saw Scott walking up to the restaurant. We had a great time though and thanks to all the fam that came. 2 years already?! Time has sure flown by. I'm glad to say that I'm married to my best friend. Jake really is the BEST! I never thought I could love someone as much as him, but each day I find something new. He's a great husband and a wonderful daddy. Caleb adores him. We've had lots of great times these first 2 years and I'm sure many, many more to come. Thanks Honey for being you and loving me! Happy Anniversary :)

I did end up needing surgery. I had my gallbladder removed on the 12th and have been recovering ok. It didn't help that a tube was shoved down my throat and I had a horrible cough for the next few days. Thankfully I didn't blow any stitches. My incisions are fairly small and really haven't been giving me too much trouble, but I must say I was feeling better than I thought and did a little too much. Caleb was a little mad because I couldn't pick him up for a few days, poor little guy. But now we are back to normal and loving life.

We sold Jake's Honda last week. It was quite the dependable little car and I know Jake misses it, but I'm sure he'll be grateful when the weather warms up and he actually has an AC that works.

The last little while has been ok, but a little worrisome. We took Caleb to the pediatrician a few weeks ago and as we were leaving I had a sudden sharp pain in my abdomen. I didn't think it was anything and that it would just go away. I was WRONG! A few hours later I decided it might be best to go to the insta care. While there the Dr. gave me some pretty gross stuff to drink, took some blood, and sent me on my way. I got a call the very next day saying I needed to get into see my primary care Dr. immediately. They had diagnosed me with pancreatitis. Needless to say, I spent the next week going to the Dr. Getting ultra sounds, CT scans and had my blood drawn on several occasions. Still no word on what is going on. I'm feeling a little bit better, but a little worried that it may be something serious. Hopefully we'll get some news in the next few days. I'm getting a little sick of waiting to tell you the truth. We'll keep you posted.

New ride

I'm horrible at updating this thing, but I've got a good excuse. We've been busy looking for a new car. And well, we found one about a week ago. So here is our new ride. It's not the best picture, but in case you were wondering, it's a Honda Pilot. We got a really great deal and love it! It's used, but new for us. And yes it's quite big and seats eight, and all of you who are wondering if we bought such a big car because I was pregnant, you're so WRONG! It's a lot safer and we have more room, which in the long run will be great for us. That's all the news we have for now.

Goodness, it almost the end of January, where did this month go?! We haven't been up to much lately. No new pictures to post of us anyway, hopefully we'll be able to get a family picture in the next few weeks. Life with a kid means everything revolves around Caleb. We have yet to go out on a date just the two of us since he's be born. Hopefully soon. We did get new callings at church. We are teaching the 12 & 13 year olds Sunday school. I'm glad we will at least get to go to relief society and priesthood. I'll miss our Sunday school class though. We have a really great teacher and it was kind of nice to not have a calling for a little while. I guess using your kid as an excuse can only last for so long :). I'm sure it will be good for us and our class isn't too big, we'll see what happens. Jake is hopefully going to be released from Cub scouts since he has to teach now, but I'm not sure if they are actually going to release him. I guess it's not 2ND counselor, so we can't really complain, and well, we really need to start doing a better job serving others. Other than that, nothing is going on. We are just enjoying Caleb's laugh and watching him grow.

Despite going the rounds with the flu, sinus infections, and a case of impetigo, the first few weeks of the new year has been pretty uneventful for us. We've just been busy working away and keeping up with Caleb. It's hard work taking care of a 4 month old and working. We are getting more sleep and enjoy every minute with our little boy. He is such a joy in our lives and we're so happy he's a part of our family. Jake is busy working and studying again and I'm trying to find a way to be able to stay home with Caleb. We'll see what happens. But for now, we are hanging out and staying inside. It's too cold out there. Spring and summer weather please come soon!

Good grief, It's the start of the New Year already! This time last year we found out we were pregnant. Time has sure flown by. 2008 was a pretty great year for us. We celebrated our 1st anniversary, moved into a new place, got to spend lots of time with family, and added to our own little family. We had some changes, but know that big changes will likely come in the near future for us. We are so grateful to have such wonderful families who love and support us. We are thankful for all the many blessings we receive and look forward to what 2009 has in store for us.

I'm sad to say that it's 2 days before Christmas and I'm not really feeling it this year. I'm not sure if it was the delayed winter or what. I guess it doesn't really feel like December or that it should be Christmas. We did put our tree up a few weeks ago and I've been busy working on new stockings for us, and listening to Christmas music to help, but it's just not working. Hopefully once we get a break from work and are able to spend some time with our families it will be much better

We went to Temple Square on Monday night to see the lights. I love Temple Square at Christmas time! However I didn't realize it would be as busy as it was. Thanksgiving

Well we missed Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday with Jake's family. Unfortunately, we all had the stomach flu all week long. I can't believe how sick we got and it's not easy trying to take care of an infant when both of us were sick. Luckily Caleb was only sick for one day and by Friday we were all feeling just a little bit better. On Sunday my parent's decided to have Thanksgiving dinner since my brother and his family came in from California that day. We had almost the entire family there, minus my sister and her family that are down in Arizona. We had a great day despite my mom having a brain freeze and putting a microwave safe container in the oven. Let's just say we almost had some plastic in our yams! Overall it was a fun day and we got to spend the entire day with family. It was just what we needed after being sick all week. not too bad for being sick all week Lil Landy Pants! Nothing too exciting going on with us lately. Our life is filled with Caleb, Caleb, and more Caleb. We couldn't ask for anything more. Our little guy has been sleeping really well the past week or so and we really hope it continues. Other than taking care of him, not too much has been going on. We've just been busy working and looking forward to the short week coming up. It will be nice to spend some time with family. In other news, we did have a new nephew that was born yesterday. Eric & Sue had their little boy. We are so excited he is here and healthy! This completes the babies for the year. We've had 5 new babies between our two families this year and they've all been boys. Eric, Sue, & baby boy Lee We've also had a few birthdays this month already. We hope Courtney, Ed, and Dallas all had fun filled birthdays. Let's see, we've been pretty busy lately. We had lots of birthdays last month, with Chris, Scotty, Mom, and Didi. We hope you all had great birthdays! We also flew up to Oregon to Surprise mom for her 60th. It was a great time and Caleb did extremely well on the flight. I hope he continues to be a good traveler. Then on the 26th we got another new nephew. Bobbie & Donny had their little boy Landyn. And this last week, Jake's family came down here and we were able to bless Caleb. Jake did a wonderful job and I'm so grateful to have him as a husband. He's such a good daddy and loves his little boy. Now we are just busy working and taking care of our little guy. He's getting bigger and we can't wait for the next couple of months. Thanksgiving is coming up quickly and then Christmas. We've been adjusting well and are loving every minute with our sweet boy. Adjusting

It's been a while, but I guess having a baby is a good excuse. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind. I think we're adjusting well, but I know it will still take a little time. I've been able to stay at home and work the last few weeks and Jake has been working even with the lack of sleep. I'm sure that will get better with time. Jake's mom came to stay with us the week after we had Caleb, and we are so grateful for her coming. She certainly spoiled us and we definitely miss her! Other than adjusting to life with a newborn, not much has been going on with us. We did have a few birthdays that we missed the beginning of the month so we wanted to tell Kaytlin happy 8th birthday on the 6th! Sorry we missed your baptism. And we wanted to wish a happy birthday to Eric on the 11th. We hope you both had great days!

Blog Slackers

Well we've been slacking on the posting the last month. Not that we haven't done anything, but we just haven't blogged about it. My Oma came to visit from Germany, so we spent the last few weeks with her. We also had my sister and her kids come up to visit from Arizona. We've had a missionary farewell, and well, lots of birthdays. We hope Kelly, Heather, Collin, Ethan, and Rachel all had great birthdays! We love you all! Well, we've had a somewhat busy last few weeks. Jake finally took the MCAT in the middle of July. Now we are just waiting to get his results back, and then we'll go from there. We've had lots of family birthdays that we've missed in the last few weeks. Jeremy had a birthday on the 22nd, we hope you had a great day! We celebrated my 26th birthday on the 27th. Jake made me a delicious cake! He says it was his first ever. He did a pretty good job. He even put raspberry filling inside and frosted it. I didn't even help. Maybe I should make him bake more often :) Jake's dad had a birthday on the 31st. We hope you enjoyed your day Jim! And finally, Jenny Penny had a birthday on August 2nd. Neskowin 2008

We got home a few days ago from the Lee Family reunion up at the Oregon Coast. It was great to be with Jake's family and to be at beautiful Neskowin. It was a nice relaxing week despite getting lobster legs that resulted in second degree burns. I guess it doesn't really help that I'm 33 weeks along and my body doesn't like the sun very much right now. We flew up to Oregon and spent the 4th of July with Jake's parent's and then met up with the rest of the family the following Tuesday. It was nice to be in a little cooler weather, but still warm and not have a care in the world. We also celebrated Hannah and Owen's birthdays while we were there. I guess we haven't posted for a while, not that we didn't want to, but we just haven't done anything that is really worth posting. We've just been hanging out enjoying the warm weather. Jake's parents came into town two weeks ago for Henry's blessing and then my niece's from Arizona are here visiting now. Other than visiting with family, not much has been going on with us. We head up to Oregon in 3 short weeks for the Lee Family reunion. We are excited and are really looking forward to a break from work. It will be the only vacation we have this summer before our little guy gets here. Then in 5 weeks, Jake is taking the MCAT exam. He's been studying like crazy and I know he will do well. That's about all that's going on with us. We are just getting ready for our little guy to get here. We still have so much to do and running short on time.

All Moved

Finally all moved and mostly unpacked. We got everything moved out of the old place and into the new all in one night (thanks for all the help guys!). We've spent the last few weeks trying to get settled. I think we are almost done unpacking and we've got a few things left to hang on the walls. I will post pictures once it's complete. We are really liking our new place and think it will be a great fit. It's so nice to be closer to work and the hospital. We are also enjoying our new ward. Our next task will be to complete the 2nd/baby's room. We don't have much room, but we've got to make some things fit. We've done a great job at simplifying what is in our apartment and have put a lot in storage. It will feel great once it's all done.

Well, we found a nice little condo very close to both our jobs. So we have been packing and packing and will make the move this weekend. I didn't realize we had so much stuff until we started packing. We even took a car load of stuff to DI. Our new place is a little bigger and is in a more convenient location. No more drives to work that last 40 minutes or more with the traffic for me. It's also much closer to the hospital where I will deliver at. We're hoping this will be a good place for us for the next little while. To make things even better, we will be 2 minutes away from Scotty. I know Jake is really excited about that, and hopefully Scott will be too. We'll post pictures of the new place as soon as we get settled.

Rachel and Matt had their 3rd little boy on Wednesday the 2nd. Henry Bates is finally here and is he a cutie! We had a chance to stop by the hospital yesterday evening to see mommy and Henry, here are a few pictures that we took. Our 1st Anniversary

Today is our 1st Anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year already. Everyone told me that the first year of marriage is often times the hardest, but I guess we didn't really experience that, not that we didn't have hard times, but it's great being married to your best friend. At this time last year, we were just getting to the Temple. I thought we were going to be late, after all we had to fight traffic to get there, but we made it. It was nice getting married during the middle of the week, we didn't have to fight a crowd of couples at the Temple. It was great to be the only one in the Bride's room, with my mom getting ready to go meet Jake. It was truly a wonderful day and we couldn't be happier! Here is a picture right after we walked out of the Temple We did save the top to our wedding cake, so we'll see how it tastes later today. I'm not expecting much, be maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised :) And here we are now! This picture is a few months old, but it's the most recent one we've taken together. I guess I'll have to take some later today and this weekend as we celebrate.

So, it's been a while since I posted last, and well, not too much has been going on. Just work, work, and car troubles. I'm afraid we may have to buy a new car for Jake soon. We're trying to hold out as long as possible, but we don't think his car is going to make it too much longer. Afterall, it is 22 years old. Other than that, we've just been relaxing when we can. Today is though 11 months since we first got married. Time sure is flying by, it's really crazy to think about. We do have some news to share, some of you know, and some of you don't, but you can click here to find out what's up with the Lee's. Everything else is going well. We undoubtably had a great weekend. Jake's mom got in on Friday afternoon and we spent the night playing Wii at Eric & Sue's. The nieces and nephews were pretty funny! We even stayed up until about 2 am. What were we thinking?! We never stay up that late. Then on Saturday, Jake opted not to go skiing with the boys and I went out with the girls. I don't think I've ever laughed so much or so hard. I love these Lee's, there is never a dual moment that's for sure! We are, however pretty lame and failed to take any pictures this weekend. I guess we need to do a better job at that and start documenting things a little more. On Sunday, we went to Uncle Mike & Aunt Laura's ward at 9 am. Matt just came home from his mission. It was a great meeting and there was a wonderful spirit there. It was nice to see most of Jake's family and get to know them better, they really are great! Sunday evening, we just hung out some more. We watched a video from Eric & Sue's trip to Hawaii and then from Christmas eve since we were in Oregon. We had a wonderful weekend and it was so great to spend so much time with family. We are happy that we were able to see Laurey, but we did miss Jim. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Perfect Servant of the Lord

Our beloved President and Prophet passed away last night due to his age. What an incredible servant of our Lord and Savior! He was such a great example to us all and will be truly missed. He was inspired and truly called of God. May we all remember him and follow his example. May we all be joyous that he has returned to our Father in Heaven and his sweet wife Marjorie. It's been a week since my last post, and not too much has been going on with us. Jake is busy working and really studying hard for the MCAT. Last night he even signed up to take it in April. I don't think he was too excited about the April date, but everything in May was already filled up. This way he can take it and then continue to study just in case he needs to take it again. Then when he gets his results back he can hopefully apply to school then, or study and work on the areas where he needs improvement and prepare to take it again. We are really looking forward to this weekend. Jake's parents are headed to town for his cousin's homecoming and it will be nice to see them. We've been spoiled this last year with so many trips to see his family. It's great to be with them! They should be in tomorrow and then we will all have a few days together, then Matt's homecoming at the Robinson's, should be lots of fun! Other than that, we are just trying to stay warm in this freezing weather. We got a ton of snow dumped on us early this week. Let's just say it wasn't a very fun drive to work for me. I get anxiety if I have to drive in the snow. It's really not a good thing. Thank goodness Jake is braver than I am when it comes to the snow!

Well, I finally brought my camera to work so I could upload some of our pictures from our Christmas trip to Oregon. We had a wonderful time! Can I just say that I've got the greatest husband ever?! I came home to find roses sitting on our table. For me, I asked? Of course! No reason in particular, other than he's just great like that. He's sooo good to me and I'm so thankful to have him in my life. In other news, I'm most certainly glad that he is starting to feel better. He has been so sick the last little while. He went back to the doctor yesterday because he thought he may need more antibiotics to kick the pneumonia, but his lungs sounded great and the doctor said he just needed to take it easy for the next week or so. Hopefully by this weekend he will be back to his old self again.

Sinus infections, Pneumonia, what else?

So today marks the second day that Jacob has stayed home from work due to pneumonia. He has been battling a constant sinus infection for the past few months and now pneumonia. Poor guy can't catch a break. The worst part about it is, he's been having referred pain in his shoulder. So to say the least he's having trouble sleeping, his shoulder hurts and well, it hurts to breathe. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. He's been on meds for a few days now and I think he was actually able to get a little sleep last night. The funny thing is he thought he was just being paranoid the other day about his shoulder and wasn't too sure about going to the doctor. I guess the spirit just kept bugging him to go and it's a good thing. I'm afraid he would have been much worse had he waited any longer. We'll see how the next few days go and hopefully he can get a little rest and relaxation this weekend. I'll keep you posted...

Well, it's been a week into the New Year and I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I would add one today. There really hasn't been anything to post about. We got home from Oregon on the 30th and then spent New Year's eve with my parents. Since then, we've just been working, and well, working. We did go to church on Sunday and the time has changed from 11-2 to 1-4. I really don't like going to church so late. I feel like by the time we get home it's time to eat dinner and go to bed. What's this, no afternoon nap?! I'm not really looking forward to the later day, but what do you do. I do have some pictures to post from our trip but our computer's power supply went out and we have to special order a new one. I could bring our camera to work and do it, but remembering that in the morning is another story. Hopefully soon. As for now, our life is quiet and we are enjoying the time we have to relax. We're hoping the next few weeks will be a little more exciting and that we'll actually have something to tell everyone about.

Well 2007 is finally over and we are definitely looking forward to what 2008 has in store for us. We had a pretty great year that was filled with many events and lots of time spent with family. We are hoping this new year will bring new challenges and many new adventures. We've had a nice long break from the "real world" and will be returning to work tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be to hard to adjust since we've been off for just about two weeks. It was great to spend so much time with family over the holidays and to see how much we are truly blessed. 9 Months and counting

Today is 9 months from the day we got married. Time is sure flying by and we have experienced so many things together already in such a short time. We have had many great times filled with laughter and then we have had some hard grieving times filled with tears. This year has been filled with many events that included many visits to see family, a new baby, and a few losses of loved ones. We miss those who have passed on a great deal but will always hold them in our hearts. We have also been blessed with a new nephew this year and we are excited for the two new little one's that will be joining us in the spring. We are grateful for our families and for all their love and support. We are most certainly grateful for the gospel that we have in our lives and for our Savior. We have been blessed tremendously and couldn't even imagine what our lives would be without it. We are looking forward to the holidays and the opportunity we have to spend it with those we love. We are excited for the new year and what it holds for us.

Jake proposed to me at BYU by the duck pond in about a foot of snow. I honestly have to say that I thought he was never going to ask. He even told me that he had my ring about a week before and that he wanted to show it to me, but he hadn't figured out how he wanted to propose. Now who does that? Seriously, was he trying to make me crazy or what?! He finally asked on Sunday evening. We went to feed the ducks like we always did while we were living in Orem. He was pretty cute in putting the ring box in the box of cheerios, but I knew something was up because he kept handing me cheerios and wouldn't let me get them out myself. When he finally did, I grabbed the box and just about threw it in the pond. Then I laughed and asked him if he had put a cheerio in the ring box instead of my ring. He then proceeded to ask me to marry him. It was a pretty great night! We then took some pictures with our phones and sent a text message to my family and closest friends. We wanted to see who would respond first to the news. I told Jake he needed to call and tell his family, but he insisted that we would just tell them in person when they came in for Christmas that weekend. Let's just say that wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do. We apologize to you all for not telling you sooner. I'm just glad everyone took the news so well. We are so very thankful to have such great families that love and support us.

Well, just an update on our weekend. We were out in Tooele most of the time with my parents, pretty much just hanging out. We got our snow tires put on and hopefully we won't be sliding in the snow anymore. We also changed our brakes. I guess I should say that Jake and my brother in law Donny changed them. Jake was excited because he learned something new. We also dropped the car off to the body shop to get it repaired. Let's just hope it will be finished when they said it would be.:) We also got most of our Christmas shopping done. Thank goodness for that! We will hopfully get everything sent out so it gets to where it's going on time. Then yesterday afternoon we went to Eric and Suzanna's and had a little FHE with them, Rach, Matt, and the kids. It was nice to see everyone and spend a little time with them. The nieces and nephews are getting so big, so fast. We forgot our camera, so no pictures to show of the day. and one final note, 11 days til we fly to Oregon! We are getting excited and we're counting down the work days til we leave. :)

Christmas Party, Baptism, Car wreck, and a Birthday Party

We had an eventful weekend to say the least. Jake and I went to Nelson Lab's Christmas party at the Hilton on Friday night. We didn't take any pictures, nor did we stay very long. We had prime rib for dinner, which would have been great if it wasn't mooing on my plate! They had dancing following dinner, but neither one of us is a big dancer, so we went home instead. On Saturday, we braved the storm and drove to Orem for my neice's baptism. It was so icy out, I thought we were going to slide off the road, but we'll get to that later. The baptism was nice and there was a great spirit there. I'm glad we were able to be there for Courtney. Now on to yesterday afternoon. We were driving to my brother's to celebrate his daughter's 2nd birthday. We decided to take the back road and it cost us big time. We hit a snow drift and slid off the road. No worries, we're both fine! Our car on the other hand isn't. That's all for our fun weekend. We are hoping to get the car fixed in the next week or so, thank goodness for insurance, but I'm not happy about paying the deductible. Hopefully we will have some happy news to post next time. :)

We got our first Christmas tree on Tuesday night. We figured that would be our FHE activity since we didn't do one on Monday due to me not feeling well. I thought I would post just a few pictures of our trip to Phoenix. There are a few of my nieces, and some of the drive. It's a really pretty drive and it would have been great if we had more time to stop and look around, but we were both just eager to get home. Sorry for the overload of Caroline pictures, but Tea' was gone with her Mamaw most of the time we were there. The girls: Caroline Tea' more of Caroline, what a face! Also on a side note, if anyone is traveling during the holidays and you have to drive through Kanab Utah or Fredonia Arizona watch for the cop cars. Don't worry, you won't get a ticket, but a good laugh. Jake pointed out as we drove by and I wish we would have turned around to get a picture, but there were "Dummy's" in the cop cars to fool the passersby. Only in small towns I guess... Jake and I finally got home late on Saturday night. It was a long drive and we were both pretty exhausted! We had a good trip though. It was so nice to see my little nieces, they are getting so big. I will have to post some pictures later, as I'm at work and I left my camera at home. We got some gifts for my little nieces and they were so excited! I think my sister and her husband want to kill us for the "pinkie pie pony" we gave Caroline. She's been talking about it for the last few months so I couldn't resist getting it for her. It is somewhat annoying, but she loves it! We are grateful to have had a good Thanksgiving and we were definitely blessed. We are looking forward to the next few weeks. This is after all our first Christmas. We are still debating on whether to get a tree or not since we will be in Oregon for Christmas, but I'm thinking we have to. We will only have one "first Christmas".

Well, I thought I would post on the happenings in our life this weekend. Jake worked on Saturday morning and then spent a few hours with some friends watching the dreadful Ohio State game. It's too funny, because he hates OSU! I love to sit and watch with him because he just gets so mad, it's quite entertaining. I spent the day mostly with my mom. I picked her up early from the Temple and then I made her a sweet breakfast. I then took her to get her first pedicure ever. Thanks to the bday gift from Mary, I chipped in a little and gave her a nice relaxing morning. She deserves it! Next we went to IKEA and looked around, but of course couldn't bring ourselves to spend any money. We then went to Tai Pan Trading. I love that store! There are so many cute things there to make a house or apartment more homey. I bought a few things for Christmas and then we headed to take my mom home. We did however get most of our Christmas shopping done. Thank goodness for that! I just hope everyone likes what they get. Yesterday we had a great time at church and then I made my first cheesecake ever. Yeah, it was from the box, but oh well. It turned out ok, but I didn't have a pie pan so it was pretty thin, but it tasted good. We had dinner over at a friend from the ward. To tell you the truth, it was much better than we had expected. I guess we can just stop making assumptions from here on out. We are both excited that it's such a short work week this week. We have a few days of work and then we are headed down to Phoenix to see my sister and her family for Thanksgiving. We leave on Wednesday morning. It should be a fun trip and it will be nice to leave the cold weather that we are about to get for a few days. That's all for now. Hopefully we will have some more exciting things to post about in the next few weeks.

Today Jake and I had a great opportunity to speak in church. It is the first time we have been asked as a couple. I won't lie and say we weren't nervous, because we were terrified, but I think it went well and the Lord really helped us. We felt a great spirit at church today and are just hoping the rest of the congregation did as well. We look forward to many more opportunities to prepare and learn from talks.

New Design

Well, I thought it was about time that I figured out how to do my own template. Thanks to the help of Suzanne Hart, and a few other places,(you can see my list of contributors) I have done just that. I don't even know Suzanne, but I came across her page and she had some great directions and places to get some sweet designs. Then voila, here it is! I'm excited and didn't realize how easy it is to do. I thought some fall colors were much needed. We are getting to the end of the year and Christmas is closer than we think. I can't wait til the end of the Month so I can change it again to a more "Christmasy" design. I hope you all like the new design. Opa, you will be missed

This is my Opa, German for grandfather. He passed away on October 17th, he was 87. He passed away so suddenly, he and my Oma were just here a few months ago. It's sad that he is gone, but I know that with a great understanding of this gospel that I will see him again. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to spend so much time with him this summer. We love you Opa, you will be dearly missed!

In high school I usually had state volleyball on Halloween and by the time I got home, I was pretty much wasted from the day's events. Even now, I know Jake and I are probably lame for not putting the sign up for trick-or-treaters tonight, but I guess we really didn't want to be bothered with the doorbell ringing all night. Sunday we had our Stake Conference. Jake and I had a wonderful opportunity to attend at the Conference Center downtown. President Gordon B. Hinckley and Elder Boyd K. Packer spoke, as well as a few others. It was such a great conference and we learned so much from our church leaders. I am so thankful to have this wonderful gospel in my life. Relaxing Weekend

Well, after the somewhat late night on Thursday for Scotty's birthday, we decided we were just going to stay home and relax this weekend. I kind of feel like we are always going and always doing something, so we just stayed home. Jake even decided not to go into work on Saturday. I'm glad he stayed home, I think he needed to sleep in a little bit and take a break. Church was nice yesterday and Jake got called to the Activities committee. I think they are trying to get us to socialize with everyone in the ward a little more. I don't think he was super excited about it, but it will be good for both of us. On another note, we found out our new neighbors below us are members of our ward. Hopefully we don't have any issues with them like the last tenants. All I can say is they were a nightmare. Last night we also had a chance to spend some time with Rachie, Matt and the boys. It was nice to see them and have a great dinner with them. Rachie is looking more pregnant every time I see her. I can't wait til they find out the sex of the baby. Well, nothing else too exciting for now. I can't believe we are half way through October. Soon it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and before we know it, it will be the start of the new year. Time is sure flying by, but we are enjoying every minute of it :)

Well, today is our six month anniversary. Pretty crazy to think about actually. We've also hit another milestone this week, it has been two years since we first start dating. Wow! Time has sure flown by. I married the best guy ever! Jake has been an awesome husband and I can't wait for what the future holds. This last month has been pretty busy for us. We were up to see Jake's family in Oregon for the Labor day holiday. Jake had the great opportunity to baptize two of his nephews. There was such a great spirit there. We also had the chance to go to Silver Creek Falls while we were there. All, in all, we had a great time and miss everyone terribly. We can't wait to go back and visit. Let's see, nothing too new other than that. We are looking for a new place to live if anyone has any ideas for us. Well, we are just busily working and Jake is finally "really" studying for the MCAT. Well, this is the first installment of "The life of the Lee's". We thought we would try this out and keep everyone posted on the things we are doing. We've been married now for just over five months and are enjoying every minute of it! It's been a pretty crazy summer, but we can't complain. We've had plenty of time to spend with family and are looking forward to more. Jake and I are both just working right now and trying to relax a little bit. Jake will be starting to study for the MCAT and hopefully take it early next year. That's all for now. Stay tuned for our next adventure...
